Debate showed clear contrast: Hays supports increasing minimum wage, Hill opposes
NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR – Hays Campaign Manager David Furr released the following statement on former Mayor Patrick Henry Hays' decisive victory in his debate with French Hill today:
"Former Mayor Patrick Henry Hays won today's debate because he laid out the contrast in this race. Mayor Hays earned a reputation as one of the best mayors in America by balancing twenty-four budgets, cutting waste and unnecessary regulations, and working with the business community to create jobs – and his approach to bringing people together to get results is exactly what’s missing in Washington.
"In contrast, French Hill showed once again exactly why his self-interested politics are out of touch with Arkansas’ values: vigorously opposing a minimum wage increase that would put more money in the pockets of hardworking Arkansans – even though it’s supported by businesses, workers, Republicans and Democrats.
"Voters today saw only one candidate who has positive solutions to central Arkansas' problems, backed up by a record of getting things done -- and that candidate was clearly Patrick Henry Hays."
