NORTH LITTLE ROCK-- Former North Little Rock Mayor Patrick Henry Hays issued the following statement regarding the coordinated relief efforts to help those affected by last night's devastating tornadoes.
"Linda and I would like to offer our condolences to those who lost loved ones in yesterday's tornadoes. Our hearts go out to those who have lost their homes, the businesses that have suffered, and those who are still looking for missing friends and family members.
I would like to commend the men and women engaged in search and rescue efforts, and the work of local, county, and state officials to coordinate relief efforts. Arkansans and Arkansas-based businesses like Tyson's Foods and Walmart are stepping-up in big ways to help people in Mayflower, Vilonia, and all of the communities affected by these storms.
Governor Beebe said it best when he said Arkansans are resilient, and we work together. In the face of this devastation, we can all do our part to help. Whether through a church, a civic organization, or an organization like the Red Cross, I encourage all Arkansans to assist in whatever way they can."
